Astronomical equipment, pivot testing apparatus, wood / glass / metal / paper / ink, used at Sydney Observatory, made by Troughton and Simms, London, England, 1875-1877 Pivot testing apparatus contained within a wooden box with a hinged lid. Included with the pivot testing apparatus is a spirit level, two screw gauges, a large key for removing glass in the pivot, two eyepieces, a metal bracket, a shade and a large screw. There is a label inside the box lid describing its contents and a document describing the apparatus and its use. Observatory stock number 201.
