Toy steam locomotive, Robilt 'Series 52', 0-4-0 type, 0-gauge, metal, clockwork-operated, made by Robilt Products, Sandringham, Victoria, 1949 This clockwork toy steam locomotive is suggestive of a Victorian Railways engine. It features four 1¼ inch (30 mm) diameter diecast driving wheels with coupling and connecting rods. It has representations of a safety valve, steam dome and chimney and the cab has two cut out windows on each side. The boiler is made of a metal cylinder 5¼ inches (133 mm) long. A brake lever is located on the right hand side of the boiler near the front together with a patented speed controller comprising a knurled nut which turned a screwed shaft. The locomotive is finished in red with a black smoke box and chimney. The number '52' is applied in gold to the side of the cab.
