Ashtray, earthenware, made by Pates Potteries Pty Ltd, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1946-1960 An earthenware, slip-cast ashtray that is hexagonal in shape. The ashtray has rounded sides which curve inwards towards the rim. There is a standing figure of a terrier dog across two sides of the ashtray. On two opposite sides of the ashtray are two cigarette rest indentations. The ashtray has been glazed with a mottled green and brown glaze and the figure of the dog has been glazed in brown.
