Tsuba, iron / gilt, maker unknown, late Nara style, Japan, 1800-1830 A smooth, flat, round shaped, iron sword guard. Decorated with small gilt and bronze puppies and flowers in a relief form. Verso, similar design with less imagery. Central triangular hole with a bean shaped hole on one side and a distorted bean shaped hole on the other.
