Tablemats (3), embroidered, cotton / [linen / hemp], maker unknown, used by Hedda Morrison, Peking, China, 1938-1945 Three natural coloured linen or hemp tablemats with hand embroidered cross-stitch designs in three different patterns. The designs include figures, fish, insects, a phoenix, a dog and flowers. Each tablemat is embroidered in two colours - green and brown, and maroon and yellow cotton thread. The mats are hemmed with a decorative stitch in the dominant colour used in the embroidered table mat design.
